You can’t hold it against them that Swedish ‘Divine Baze Orchestra’
stayed true to their beloved progressive rock genre and recorded their
album in 2 days, live in the studio & while busy improvised half of the
songs. Now that’s prog for you, DT fans, eat this!
The result is in some places absolutely awesome
(‘Dance’ & ‘The Man From My Mother’s Brother’) and in other
cases rather disappointing (‘Choose Your Green’).
The sound of The DBO, also known as the Orchestra Of
The Deep Swedish Woods, is largely dominated by Daniel Karlsson
as the heavy power of the organs is omni-present. Mix that up with
some flirting with jazz, some influences of The Nice, Uriah Heep,
Yes, … and the result is the far out DBO, keepers of the green.
Certainly an interesting album for all true progressive rock lovers!
