Back in the 1970s in Sweden there were quite a lot progbands, but also nowadays there are a
lot of bands playing this style, with of course THE FLOWER KINGS as leading act for the
Swedes, but also BLACK BONZO and WICKED MINDS are good examples. DIVINE BAZE ORCHESTRA is
another Swedish band playing 70s prog, with their debut CD being released on Transubstans records.
The band is formed around multi-instrumentalist Alexander Frisborg - Vocals, guitars, keyboards,
percussion and 'Once we were born' is the debut album, which musically is mixing influences of
bands like URIAH HEEP and KING CRIMSON. The heavy organ / mellotron sounds and edgy guitarwork
makes it sound quite raw, but of course for a fan of the 1970s prog/hardrock it's this that
makes the album a must to check out!
